Alison von Rosenvinge

After life as a lawyer, academic, and stay-at-home mom, Alison started writing fiction in her forties. Her first novel, long-listed for the Reading the West Awards, was published when she was 48. Her second novel received a starred review from Publisher’s Weekly, along with a PW interview titled, “Not the Book of Mormon.” Alison is a member of International Thriller Writers, Mystery Writers of America, and Sisters in Crime. She has served as an Edgar’s judge, and is a past president of the New York Chapter of Sisters in Crime.

Alison was born in Scotland and spent her early childhood in Utah before her family moved to France and later to Germany. In fifth grade, she attended three different schools in three different languages. She spent her junior year of college in the Soviet Union when it became the Russian Federation. She earned her Ph.D. in political science and her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. She and her husband brought up their two children on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. They currently split their time between New York City and the Hudson Valley.
